Claire Vujanovic, a Member of McBrayer PLLC’s Louisville, Kentucky, office, will serve as the next President of Louisville Girls Leadership. After serving on the organization’s board for two years, including serving as Vice President, she now steps into the role of President. Her two-year term will begin officially on July 1st.
Louisville Girls Leadership, which grew out of the first Louisville Girls’ Leadership Conference held in 1997, is a community-wide program that recruits girls from every public and private high school in Metro Louisville and brings that diverse group together to connect, learn, and transform throughout an immersive leadership journey. Over the course of each year of the program, a core group of 40 girls organizes monthly education sessions, networking opportunities with local leaders, communitywide events, and an annual fundraiser. Together, students enrolled in Louisville Girls Leadership volunteer a combined 2,700 hours to reach over 350 high school students through our program every year. Each student gains advocacy skills on local, national, and global levels and learns to use her voice to empower others and create lasting, positive change. Many participants ultimately become leaders in their field, remain civically engaged, and advance women and girls through their lives and work.
“Claire prioritizes being a leader through the lenses of compassion and empowerment,” said Louisville Girls Leadership Executive Director Carmellia Jackson. “She is a great fit to continue guiding our organization and amplifying our reach to students in Louisville and beyond.”
“As a woman in a male-dominated profession, programs like Louisville Girls Leadership are so important to me,” said Vujanovic, who become involved with the program and organization after one of her daughters participated in it. “Knowing that girls in our community have the opportunity to develop their skills and pursue their passions makes me very excited for the future they’ll build in Louisville and beyond. I am honored to serve as Louisville Girls Leadership’s next president, and I look forward to what the future holds for this program.”
