Overview

Individuals and families rely on Cathy Hayden to create estate plans that protect what matters most. She helps clients implement their goals through careful planning and guidance on wills, trusts, and the complexities of all other estate planning tools.

Cathy combines technical knowledge with a warm and approachable style that puts clients at ease. She understands that estate planning is about more than preparing documents. Its about helping people make informed decisions with confidence. Cathy translates legal and fiduciary concepts into clear, straightforward advice. She counsels clients in all aspects of their estate planning, such as charitable planning and addressing sensitive or unique personal issues that impact themselves and their families.

Cathy’s background as both a private practice attorney and a former institutional trust officer gives her perspective few attorneys can offer. Having worked on the administrative side of estates, she drafts plans that aren't just legally sound, but practically functional for the fiduciaries who will ultimately administer them. That firsthand experience helps her  anticipate potential issues, and create well-crafted plans, and provide advice that works well on paper and in practice.

Before joining McBrayer, Cathy spent six years in private practice as an estate planning attorney and served for eight years as a trust officer at PNC.
